On reviewing the benefits of DRY ICE BLASTING, Patties Foods decided to rent two blasting machines as a trial which was so effective they were able to reduce the number of staff dedicated to the cleaning from 14 to 2. This saving justified their purchasing the machines. The cleaning neutralised all bacteria and greatly reduced the incidence of salmonella. Patties also found that there was no collateral damage to sensitive electronic switches (as had occurred previously).
Because the process is dry, real savings through the reduced use of water and disposal costs with production being maintained were the ultimate benefits on this project.
